Subaru Impreza Next-Gen Concept

Subaru kicked off their highly anticipated Impreza Design Concept at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show. The car was well-received by the public at the show.

This event marks the introduction of the new 2.0-liter Boxer engine with the Lineartronic CVT by Subaru. The powertrain is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 224 horsepower turbocharged engine used on the 2011 Subaru Forester.

The concept car has been built along Subaru's "Confidence in Motion" philosophy. This is the first model produced under the new strategy plan.

Volkswagen Golf blue-e-motion

VW is bringing their new technology to the Los Angeles auto show this week, and some will have the chance to drive the German auto maker's upcoming Golf blue-e-motion, their all-electric variant of the Golf, due to launch in 2014.

The automaker states Golf blue-e-motion's range as 93 miles, but hopes to make that number higher by the time the model goes into production in 2013. With electric cars, range varies wildly and depends greatly on driving style and how power-draining devices such as the heater and air-conditioner are used.
